Cozy in at Home with our Online Playreadings

This is an exciting one!! Last year around this same time we introduced a Playreading Series. It was adapted due to in-person events still being cancelled and there being a need for theatre again amongst the arts community and our patrons.

It turned out to be quite popular from people not only in Regina, but around the world. So on top of our 2022 season, we decided to bring the series back.

Join us for a monthly play-reading series on Zoom curated by local theatre artists Rania al-Harthi, Erin Goodpipe, and Bongani Musa. The series invites the three lead artists to take a deep dive into plays from a specific perspective and share their discoveries with us.

Representing our rich, mosaic Canadian culture, we are excited to share these stories over the next 6 months. Our first one will be Women of the Fur Trade by Frances Koncan.

Here are all the details for the first show:

  • Women of the Fur Trade - written by Frances Koncan. Curated and Directed by Erin Goodpipe.
  • When: January 28th @ 7:00 pm CST

Tune in to a Radio Play

The play is titled Mrs. Singh and Me and was created by Regina's own actor and writer, Munish Sharma. What was originally created as a fringe show, ended up being a total hit and was soon turned into a 2 act play. You can read all about the original show here: Fringe Preview: “Mrs. Singh & Me” - The Vancouver Arts Review

Our rendition will be showcased as a radio play - which gives you the opportunity to listen to the show wherever you want! More details about the show and how to access it will be released closer to the day. For now, mark your calendars for March and stay tuned on our social media pages to learn more!
