Explore the world of theatre.

At Globe Theatre School, we encourage our youngest students to indulge in imaginative play and pretend. New artistic muscles grow and develop as they transition into our collective creation core programs, which are designed to build collaborative abilities and spark creative expression.

As their focus shifts to technical theatre and performance, our teen programming provides students with the necessary foundation to confidently write, act, and improvise in a positive group environment.

Teenagers and adults are offered the opportunity to perform in professional settings and challenge themselves in new and exciting ways.

History of Globe Theatre School.

The Globe Theatre School was launched in 2006 to provide people of all ages with the opportunity to participate in the art of theatre and creation. The school offers in-house multi-disciplinary classes, a provincial outreach program, a professional placement program with the University of Regina as well as specialty classes including Improv for Autism, an annual summer camp for newly arrived and immigrant youth in partnership with the Regina Open Door Society, and LAUNCH, an annual festival of new work by young artists.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the Globe Theatre School offer?

Globe Theatre School offers a wide selection of multi-disciplinary classes taught by Saskatchewan industry professionals.

Since its inception in 2006, the GTS has become one of the most important initiatives in our company’s history. Not only are we creating pathways for young Saskatchewan artists to pursue successful and rewarding careers throughout Canada, we are also helping them find confidence in themselves. We now offer theatre training and acting classes for students from two years old to adult, as well as multimedia classes (short film creation), intensive workshops for beginners and professionals, and courses in improvisation.

What can students/parents expect when they sign up for GTS?

Our classes encourage children’s imaginations and place value on their creative growth. This is why we often don’t start with a script. Students are supported by their instructors as they collaboratively create a new work of theatre. They write monologues, create their own characters, and together build elements of narrative. The classes are designed to build young people’s confidence in their own ideas and to encourage collaboration. Overall, our approach is one that gives students creative freedom and helps them build strong relationships, while being a whole lot of FUN.

How many students are there per class?

Class sizes vary with a minimum of six and a maximum of twelve.

How quickly do classes fill?

As with most schools, some classes fill up quicker than others. To avoid disappointment, please register early.
