After a 7-year absence Roger is happy to be back at the Globe pulling on the ol’ design boots once again. Though more recently he has maintained association with a notable but (currently) beleaguered Crown Corporation, as far as design goes, he has been doing it a long time, on many shows, for many companies. Notable among these are: The Sound of Music, Anne and Gilbert, Copenhagen, at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa; Butcher, Gracie, Daisy, at The Great Canadian Theatre Company; Toad of Toad Hall, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown at Alberta Theatre Projects. Lately, he has been shifting his focus toward playwriting, approaching it from the dramaturgical perspective of a designer. He was recently selected as ‘Artist in Residence’ for Carleton University Department of English – Theatre Studies Program, where he concentrated on his own writing projects and taught a playwrighting course.
