Mackenzy Vida (she/her) is a multidisciplinary artist from Treaty 4, Regina, Saskatchewan. Art therapy in early childhood was the catalyst that lit her passion for the arts. Globe Theatre School fostered confidence in exploring her creativity. Her introduction to theatre design featured shows from the Sandbox Series; Concord Floral | Young Company Directed by Judy Wensel (2019); and In Care Directed by Kenneth T. Williams (2019).  
The inspiration for the headpieces comes from the patchwork look of handmade items. The colours hark to the environment in which the animals dwell. When creating the works with the help of Celeste Pinder, we utilized scraps of fabric to play with texture and give the fur dimension. Pairing this with dyed burlap keeps them grounded in the natural world with a hint of whimsy.
