Globe Theatre School

With programming available for all ages and skill levels, we look forward to a new year of theatre creation with new and returning students.
We encourage our youngest students to indulge in imaginative play and pretend. New artistic muscles grow and develop as students work within our collective-creation programs. All sessions are designed to build collaborative abilities and spark creative expression.
For teens and young adults, focus shifts to more technical aspects of theatre and performance, and our programming provides students with the necessary foundation to confidently act, write, and improvise in more professional settings.

Creators – Musical Theatre Class (AGES 10 – 12)

Our popular Musical Theatre Class is now available for Creators! Combining script, song, and structure with artistic inspiration, your child learns how to harness their artistic talents while being part of a creative ensemble. Students utilize acting, singing, writing, sound, and each other to create an original piece of theatre to share with friends and family.

The Explorers discover and develop worlds real and imagined, telling stories through movement, art, and creative drama. As they play and invent together in collective creation, these young adventurers are also introduced to narrative by developing and learning short scripts. Their odyssey concludes with an informal share for family members.

The Creators move into the world of focused theatre-making, developing improvisation skills and an awareness of their work as something to be shared with an audience. Combining script and structure with artistic inspiration, your child learns to be part of an ensemble, helping to create small-group skits and participating in an informal share at the end of the session. Students utilize acting, improvisation, writing, sound, and each other to create an original piece of theatre to share with friends and family.

The Architects learn the joys and challenges of collective theatre creation. This ensemble-based course drives students to rely on their peers as partners, collaborators and new friends. Under direction from our city’s top artists, students are encouraged to creatively explore and expand their perspectives. Students utilize acting, improvisation, writing, sound, and each other to create an original piece of theatre to share with friends and family.

Make Believers (ages 6 – 7)

ADVANCED LEVEL CLASSES
Evolution and Young Company are advanced classes for students who have shown commitment to and aptitude for the performing arts. These classes are for students ages 13-20 who are looking for a chance to dive deeper into devised and collective theatre creation. This is a great opportunity to build your skills, working alongside other passionate emerging artists. Each class is led by seasoned artist educators.
Evolution (ages 13-15)

Evolution is an intensive, ensemble-based program that immerses young artists in the theatre creation process. Under direction of professional artists, students are encouraged and challenged to creatively explore and expand their perspectives, as they work together to build an original piece of theatre.
Evolution will conclude with a public share.

Evolution II – Musical Theatre Cabaret (ages 13-16)

Musical Theatre Cabaret Class is dancing back for another full term! In this popular singing and acting based class, students will pick and prepare a solo or duo song from the musical theatre canon, and write a monologue to introduce their song. The group will also prepare one to two group songs, and then choreograph it all into one big Cabaret for friends and family. The cabaret art form is a personal form of expression where performers speak about what’s important to them…through song! Come and sing with us!

Young Company (ages 16-20)

The Young Company is a year-long program exploring professional theatre practice, culminating with a performance of a new theatre work created by the ensemble. The Young Company is the ultimate inspirational space for an emerging artist to grow and discover their artistic voice.
For passionate students who have taken acting classes before and are looking to advance their training in various areas of theatre. Specific areas of focus will be determined based on class interest, but may include: Voice Work / Movement / Stage Combat / Improv / Clowning / Mask / Tech.
