Nicolas Di Gaetano | Creator / Performer
As an actor, director, teacher and musician Nick has worked across Canada and Internationally. Selected credits include Vimy (GCTC/NAC 2010-2011 English Theatre Resident Company), The Tooth Fairy (The Old Trout Puppet Workshop), The Rideau Project (Magnetic North Theatre Festival), A Guy Named Joe (Odyssey Theatre) and Richard III in Bouffon (A Company of Fools). He has recently completed a design and production mentorship with the Old Trout Puppet Workshop, helping to build their latest show Ignorance. Nick is a graduate of Ecole Philippe Gaulier (Paris, France) and the University of Ottawa (BA Theatre and World History).
Patrick Gauthier | Director
Patrick Gauthier’s recent directing credits include Live From the Belly of a Whale (Mi Casa Theatre), The Crucible (GCTC), Trout Stanley (Essential Collective Theatre), Airport Security (a comedy of paranoia) (Gruppo Rubato), and the sold-out site-specific The Turn of the Screw (Screwdriver Equity co-op). He is the Artistic Director of Gruppo Rubato and an Artistic Associate and Producer of the undercurrents: theatre below the mainstream festival at the Great Canadian Theatre Company. Patrick is a graduate of the University of Ottawa, and holds an MFA in Directing from the University of British Columbia.
Emily Pearlman | Writer / Creator / Performer
Emily works across disciplines as a performer, writer, director and dramaturg. Her award winning solo shows Swimming Lessons with Paisley Kite, Radio Collar and Free Range have toured across the country on the Canadian Fringe circuit. She has produced art festivals, created radio documentaries for CBC, and worked as a director/dramaturg with playwrights, poets, dancers, and sound artists. Emily holds an MFA in Interdisciplinary Performance Creation from Simon Fraser University and a BFA in Theatre and Religious Studies from Concordia.
Lynn Cox | Lighting Designer
Lynn has worked in production, direction, stage management, technical direction, scenic painting, lighting design, set design and makeup. In 2008, Lynn won a Capital Critic Circle award for Best Designer and a Rideau Award for Outstanding Lighting Design. In 2010, she worked as a Producer/Set and Lighting Designer on Shadows presented at the undercurrents festival in Ottawa.
Sarah Waghorn | Props and Costumes
Sarah Waghorn is an Ottawa based designer who was raised and did her theatre schooling in New Zealand. After 6 years as The Great Canadian Theatre Company’s Head of Props and Wardrobe she is now a freelance designer in theatre and events. She was a Rideau Awards nominee last year for her work on Turn of the Screw for Screwdriver Collective. Other credits include Exit the King, Blackbird, Antigone and Old Times (Thirdwall Theatre), and A Midsummer Night’s Dream (A Company of Fools).
Eric Powell | Stage Manager
Eric Powell joins the Mi Casa team as a stage manager, but spends most of his time as a sound artist and composer working with a wide variety of presentation methods including live performance with integrated electronics, as well as site-specific and interactive installations. He has an MFA in electroacoustic composition from Simon Fraser University. His is a founding member of the sound-art organizations Electricity is Magic and Holophon Audio Arts. His work has been heard throughout Canada, Mexico, the USA and Europe.
