Shout Sister
By Sharon Stearns
Directed by Courtenay Dobbie
A world premiere from Canadian playwright Sharon Stearns, Shout Sister is a tribute to the sultry and sensuous warmth of jazz in 1930s New Orleans. When Connee, Vet and Martha arrive for their audition at La-La’s Jazz Club, they are determined to make a good impression. Strong-willed siblings and talented singers at the cusp of greatness, they see fame and fortune within their grasp. This production follows the passion and drive that propelled the Boswell Sisters’ singing careers to stardom.
