Shumiatcher Sandbox Series
Honey on Wallpaper
Created and performed by Heather Cameron & Shaunna Dunn
Globe Theatre acknowledges Drs. Morris & Jacqui Shumiatcher for their generous donation, which enables the bold, imaginative traditions of the series to grow and develop.
With our memories, we build islands: sense and image solidified, terra firma for our nostalgia, homes for our ghosts. But what about the unremembered parts of our existence? Surely they are just as real. Surely they surround our islands of the remembered, lapping on their shores, an infinite and mysterious sea. If you could sail that sea, what might you discover? And would you ever return to your island?
You are invited to join dancer/performer Heather Cameron and visual artist Shaunna Dunn in an immersive exploration of the textures of memory. Honey on Wallpaper is an utterly unprecedented blend of installation art, dance, and theatre. Brought together by their mutual refusal to accept the boundaries between art forms, Cameron and Dunn will create a warm, multisensory world that continually shifts even as you explore. Landscape, soundscape, mindscape: Honey on Wallpaper is all of these things, and like you and me, it will be changed by its own journey through time. Your experience of this world will be as fluid as that unremembered sea.
We hope you’ll join us for this beautiful collaboration between two visionary Regina based artists.
