Shumiatcher Sandbox Series

A Thirst Undone

Choreographed by Johanna Bundon

Apr 30, 2009 – May 9, 2009

Globe Theatre acknowledges Drs. Morris & Jacqui Shumiatcher for their generous donation, which enables the bold, imaginative traditions of the series to grow and develop.

A drowning flying woman stares wildly at the beating tide, crusted sea salt in her hair; an older wiser leads her back down the beach to where the other fisherwomen lie. In another time and place: five drunken sailors surface, gulping air. Meanwhile still: a very thirsty man sips a drop of dew from a blade of grass, unaware of the expansive lake at his back. I could drink all this, they echo each and all.

A new dance work created by Regina dancer-choreographer Johanna Bundon, A Thirst Undone is a pan-Canadian collaboration featuring Joelle Arnusch, Branwyn Bundon, Natalie Zoey Gauld and Barbara Pallomina, with musical composition by Jeremy Sauer.
