A Christmas Carol
By Charles Dickens
Adapted by Michael Shamata
Directed By Ruth Smillie
A squeezing, wrenching, grasping, scraping, clutching, covetous, old sinner. Hard and sharp as flint, secret, and self-contained, and solitary as an oyster. That’s Scrooge alright. The grinchiest of them all.
Ebenezer Scrooge is a rich, miserly man who values money more than anything, including friends, family, love and even Christmas itself. A late night visit by three ghosts walk him through his past, present and future, but is it enough to melt his icy heart? Bah! Humbug!
Touching, hilarious, magical. How else can you describe this Dicken’s holiday classic? Amazing costumes, clever set designs and plenty of Christmas spirit for all.
