Globe Theatre offers 'accessible' performance of The Little Mermaid
This past Saturday was Globe Theatre's first ever Relaxed and Audio-Described performance, which was all about creating a space for anyone who would benefit from a more relaxed theatre experience. This particular show was adapted for families with small children, patrons with vision loss, individuals with accessibility needs and those who have sensory and communicative disorders including those on the autism spectrum.
Amanda Boyd, who attended the show, said that "it's really nice that [Globe wants] to include everybody in theatre because theatre is a magical, amazing thing."
Globe Theatre is excited and proud to be introducing inclusive theatre practices and is looking to create more accessible events in the future.
