Becky's New Car set design
It’s always fun to design where there is a significant metaphor used to tell the story.
Steven Dietz uses cars to tell his story and the design needs to reflect that. Designing place is not critical to the story. The places are there to tell the story, but going to those places – by car, especially, is important and critical to Becky’s life journey.
Even then the places and people of Becky’s life collide with each other: Walter/Joe/Kenni/Chris and their spaces become confusing and confused. Becky has to jump out the way like a pedestrian in a crosswalk as these elements start to impact her life.
And then of course there’s Mrs. Tipton’s car...
