The Alice Nocturne
By Joey Tremblay
Directed by Joey TremblayOCTOBER 14 - 31, 2009
Three potions. One for sleeping. One for waking. One for distraction. Mabel Pennyworth isn’t your typical young lady. She spends most of her time daydreaming about a peculiar cast of characters, like a foul-mouthed cat, three easily humoured gnats and a white rose that speaks in rhyme. After an apothecary of questionable intent gives her a series of mysterious potions, Mabel finds herself in a strange and wonderful world. Underscored by the haunting nocturnes of Chopin, The Alice Nocturne is a fascinating trip infused with classic imagery from Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland.

Ruth Says...
This play will remind you as to why you first fell in love with the theatre.
This production of The Alice Nocturne is garnering national attention. The non-traditional play development process, the collaboration between Joey Tremblay and an ensemble of young Regina artists, the designs created by Roger Shultz and a national promotional campaign in support of a 2010-2011 tour is generating a lot of interest and excitement.
