2017 SUMMER LABORATORY // TEEN CLASSES

This summer, teens will be challenged to step outside their comfort zones and discover their potential as a team. Introverted and extroverted students alike are given the tools to express their ideas with confidence and passion while learning to cooperate and share the stage in a positive peer environment.

Discover what your child can create at Globe Theatre School.

Teen Creation Workshop (Ages 13-15)

This ensemble-based course drives students to rely on their peers as partners, collaborators, and new friends. Under direction of professional artists, students are encouraged to leave their comfort zone and expand their perspectives. Students combine skills of improvisation, text analysis, to create an original piece of theatre, presented at the end of the session.

Scripted (Ages 15-18)

Students are directed through the process of performing a scripted play in the context of a professional theatre practice with a local director. Through studies of text analysis, character development, physicality and scene study, students will leave this project better prepared for professional theatre in a modern world. This project is for mature young people who have had at least two years’ experience with acting. They learn to trust and support each other’s ideas as they collaboratively develop a theatre creation project. The laboratory culminates in a performance of their new work.

At Globe Theatre School, students leave their fears at the door and step into the bold and bright world of their own creative potential.

We encourage our youngest students to indulge in imaginative play and pretend. New artistic muscles grow and develop as they transition into our collective creation core programs, which are designed to build collaborative abilities and spark creative expression.

As their focus shifts to technical theatre and performance, our teen programming provides students with the necessary foundation to confidently write, act, and improvise in a positive group environment.

Teenagers are offered the opportunity to perform in professional settings and challenge themselves in new and exciting ways.
