Improv for ASD (Teen and Adult)

Improv for Autism Spectrum Disorder

In 2014 the Globe Theatre School and the Autism Resource Centre began a partnership, investing in a unique program that looks at how improvisation tools can assist young people on the Autism Spectrum.

Our Improv for Autism Spectrum Disorder curriculum was built over a two-year development period in partnership with the Autism Resource Centre. The program offers students on the autism spectrum the opportunity to build confidence, interpersonal communication skills, and lasting friendships!

These recreational classes are open to students of all experience levels with mild-moderate autism or Asperger's syndrome. Students learn improvisation acting techniques in a fun and supportive environment. Classes focus on the development of self-confidence, communication, and social skills, context awareness, creativity, relating and connection.

Thanks to generous funding support from SaskLotteries, Improv for ASD is now only $100 for a ten-week session! Read below to learn more about Improv for ASD for Teens and for Adults!

We encourage our youngest students to indulge in imaginative play and pretend. New artistic muscles grow and develop as they transition into our collective creation core programs, which are designed to build collaborative abilities and spark creative expression.

As their focus shifts to technical theatre and performance, our teen programming provides students with the necessary foundation to confidently write, act, and improvise in a positive group environment.

Teenagers and adults are offered the opportunity to perform in professional settings and challenge themselves in new and exciting ways.
