Teen (ages 13-17)

TEEN CLASSES: 

Whether you are looking to come out of your shell or continue the path of a theatre artist, the Globe Theatre School has a class for you. Our teen classes focus in on specific performance and creation skills, designed to strengthen teenagers' ability to express, imagine and create. This season we are offering teen classes on acting, directing, improvisation and collective creation.

Teen Acting I (Ages 13 - 15) 

Students approach text, character development, voice and physicality in the context of professional theatre practices. The class will guide students through the process of bringing a script to stage.

120 minutes/week for 12 weeks
Capacity: 12

Evolution I (Ages 13 - 15)

For students who have shown commitment to and aptitude for the performing arts. Through this intensive ensemble-based program, young artists are immersed in the theatre creation process, building an original piece of theatre.

Teen Improvisation II (Ages 16 - 17)

Students will study improvisation with a focus on short form improv, gameplay, and technical scene and story structure. Classes will cover basic improv skills including detailed characters, strong offers, and basic scene structure to get students comfortable thinking on their feet and taking new risks. This class is designed for students with 1-2 years’ experience in improvisation. No improv experience, but still interested in the class? Contact the Theatre School.

90 minutes/week for 12 weeks

Teen Directing (Ages 13 - 17)

Students learn the fundamentals of stage direction including text analysis, stage composition and the directorial process from choosing a script to opening night. Students will direct and act in short scenes. This class is designed for students with or without directing experience. Some acting experience required.

120 minutes/week for 12 weeks

Improv for ASD (Ages 13 - 17)

Students learn improvisational acting techniques in a fun and supportive environment. Classes focus on the development of self-confidence, communication, and social skills, context awareness, creativity, relating, and connection. For those who have social challenges, including persons with Asperger’s, or mild-moderate autism.

90 minutes/week for 12 weeks

Cancellation Policy

100% refund up to 14 days before class begins. 50% refund 14 days or less before class begins. No refund will be given from the first day of class except for medical reason, and only with a doctor's certificate. 

Globe Theatre School reserves the right to cancel any program with insufficient enrolment. In that event, full refunds will be provided or we will try to place the student in another class.
