Artist Lab – Artist Lab #7: Developing a Movement Practice

This class assists in the development of a functional movement practice. Using tools from somatic forms we explore ways to develop presence, body awareness, recover from injury and prepare the body for stage.  Learn to increase your unique capacity as a mover, train your mind body connection and deepen your artistry.  We focus on understanding impulse and initiation in motion while building a greater understanding of anatomy and biomechanics.  Warm up and cool guidelines as well as floor and standing techniques will be covered, perfect for artists wanting to increase their level of physicality on and off the stage.

Sunday November 25 10:00am - 1:00pm
Teacher: Ashley Johnson

Artist Lab – Performance Masterclass with Michael Greyeyes

Michael Greyeyes (Actor, Director, Educator) is offering a public workshop on performance technique.  This workshop will examine practical approaches to auditions, scene work and the craft of screen performance.  Applicants are invited to bring material (scripts, scenes, or audition sides) of their own choosing to the workshop, but the instructor will provide materials if needed. The workshop is practical in nature and will allow participants to work, with direction and guidance, toward a clearer understanding of the craft of the actor.
