Adult Classes

We believe that the practices of theatre and performance are not only important for aspiring actors. Our programs will give you a toolkit to improve your abilities to communicate, listen and think critically in any field of study or pursuit. This season we are offering introductory improvisation and playwrighting courses for those looking at pursuing theatre either in their community or professionally.

Introduction to Playwrighting 

Learn to bring your stories and ideas to the page! Through individual writing exercises, a collaborative group environment and the leadership of an award-winning playwright, this class will introduce the fundamentals of playwriting. This class is open to all experience levels.

90 minutes/week for 10 weeks
Capacity: 10

Adult Improv I

Adult Improv I will introduce the fundamentals of improvisation: spontaneity, focus, listening and accepting. Participants will develop communication skills, creative problem solving and supportive teamwork abilities that will extend into all aspects of life. This recreational adult class is open to all experience levels.

90 minutes/week for 10 weeks
Capacity: 15

Adult Improv II

This class explores improvisation with a focus on technical scene work, organic storylines, and gameplay. Students will apply their improv fundamentals to various structures while taking on new improvisation techniques. Adult Improv I or equivalent training is required before enrolling in this class.

90 minutes/week for 10 weeks
Capacity: 15

Improv for ASD (Adult)

Students learn improvisation acting techniques in a fun and supportive environment. Classes focus on the development of self-confidence, communication, and social skills, context awareness, creativity, relating and connection. For those who have social challenges, including persons with Asperger's, or mild-moderate autism.

120 minutes/week
Capacity: 8

Cancellation Policy

100% refund up to 14 days before class begins. 50% refund 14 days or less before class begins. No refund will be given from the first day of class except for medical reason, and only with a doctor's certificate. 

Globe Theatre School reserves the right to cancel any program with insufficient enrolment. In that event, full refunds will be provided or we will try to place the student in another class.

We encourage our youngest students to indulge in imaginative play and pretend. New artistic muscles grow and develop as they transition into our collective creation core programs, which are designed to build collaborative abilities and spark creative expression.

As their focus shifts to technical theatre and performance, our teen programming provides students with the necessary foundation to confidently write, act, and improvise in a positive group environment.

Teenagers and adults are offered the opportunity to perform in professional settings and challenge themselves in new and exciting ways.
