Adult Classes

We believe that the practices of performance and improvisation are not only practical for world-class actors, that the basic skills of acting and improvising are for every day people. Our programs will give you a toolkit to improve your abilities to communicate, listen, and think critically.

Our programs are also excellent as introduction courses for those looking at pursuing theatre either in their community or professionally.

Fundamentals of Acting

Level I

This recreational adult class is open to all experience levels.  Topics include voice, choral speaking, script work, text analysis, the discipline of acting, and movement.  This fun and explorative program will provide you with new skills that will extend into all aspects of your life.

90 minutes/week for 10 weeks
Capacity: 12

Level II

This class is for those who have taken Fundamentals of Acting I or who have previous experience. Based in scene study; students delve into character motivation, physicalization, and text analysis. Students will develop the skills that bring a scene to life.

90 minutes/week for 10 weeks

Adult Improv

Level I

This class will introduce the fundamentals of improvisation; teaching improvisation terminology, spontaneity and focus, listening skills, accepting, and teamwork.  Participants will develop communication skills, creative problem solving and supportive team-work abilities that will extend into all aspects of life. This recreational adult class is open to all experience levels.

90 minutes/week for 10 weeks

Level II

Adult Improv II explores improvisation from an advanced performative perspective. Topics will include technical scene work, organic storylines, and gameplay. Students will apply their improv fundamentals to various structures while taking on advanced techniques. Adult Improv I or equivalent training is required before enrolling in this class.

90 minutes/week for 10 weeks

Improv for ASD (Adult)

Students learn improvisation acting techniques in a fun and supportive environment. Classes focus on development of self-confidence, communication and social skills, context awareness, creativity, relating and connection. For those who have social challenges, including persons with Asperger's, or mild-moderate autism.

120 minutes/week
Capacity: 8

Cancellation Policy

100% refund up to 14 days before class begins. 50% refund 14 days or less before class begins. No refund will be given from the first day of class except for medical reason, and only with a doctor's certificate. 

Globe Theatre School reserves the right to cancel any program with insufficient enrolment. In that event, full refunds will be provided or we will try to place the student in another class.

At Globe Theatre School, students leave their fears at the door and step into the bold and bright world of their own creative potential.

We encourage our youngest students to indulge in imaginative play and pretend. New artistic muscles grow and develop as they transition into our collective creation core programs, which are designed to build collaborative abilities and spark creative expression.

As their focus shifts to technical theatre and performance, our teen programming provides students with the necessary foundation to confidently write, act, and improvise in a positive group environment.

Teenagers are offered the opportunity to perform in professional settings and challenge themselves in new and exciting ways.
