About the Shumiatcher Sandbox Series

Globe Theatre Shumiatcher Sandbox Series

The Shumiatcher Sandbox Series at Globe Theatre showcases the work of Artists who continually challenge the boundaries of theatre, dance and multidisciplinary performance.

The Shumiatcher Sandbox Series is a showcase of original, daring, and boundary-busting performance works by Saskatchewan artists. Each season is selected through a call for submissions to artists followed by pitch sessions with short-listed project teams. Dozens of projects are submitted for the series; between four and six projects are selected based on the originality of the work, the capacity of the artistic collaborators to bring the work to fruition, and the passion of the artists to take risks with the art form.

The heart and soul of the Shumiatcher Sandbox Series is to embrace new ideas and new art practices. Join us for this outstanding series and get ready to have your own imaginations and passions ignited.

Performances for the series are staged primarily in the Templeton Studio Cabaret. See technical documents on the sidebar for specifications.

Globe Theatre acknowledges Drs. Morris & Jacqui Shumiatcher for their generous donation, which enables the bold, imaginative traditions of the series to grow and develop.

Please check back for information on submitting for the 2018|2019 Series.
